We have chosen this song out of a variety of other songs that watched the genre and visual idea, because when myself and Hannah sat down to discuss what songs, musical genres and artists we like we found that we favoured songs by more indie pop artists like Dua Lipa therefore it became a common trait when we become listening to songs on Spotify and other music outlets, Lipa's songs were always being played as options, allowing us to equally decide that Dua Lipa was the artist we would most like to imitate. We chose this particular song out of the variety of songs both released by Lipa and songs she is featured in because it is one of the songs that does have recollection by her fans and the industry however isn't played on several radio stations daily like some of her other hit like 'Be the one' and 'Hotter than hell' and no music video officially published at the time of decision meaning that could create a video that doesn't have any type of influence from an actual video meaning our visual interpretation can be completely our own- making out creativity much prominent through the video. Dua Lipa is a female artist that allows the world around her to influence the songs she makes meaning that every song she releases has a utopia sound to it as her vocal abilities make the listener feel connected to the emotion she is singing about through her tone, and feel empowered because each of her song gives that impression which was a big factor for why we decided to use as an artist. We researched into how Lipa presents herself in the media so we could get a greater understanding of her style to help get inspiration of how could portray the song, and from that we found that her music feel into the unique dark pop genre of music rather than the pop side which encourages to use the song 'Lose in your light' because it was a strong meaning that interested us and give us the creative freedom to expand on the songs concept, which was one of the main reasons we chose to song.
